What is the history of the Minnesota Christian Convention? - The Convention began in the late 1960s under the Minnesota Christian Evangelizing Association. Until 1985 it was held in a different church each year. The host congregation planned the program. Average attendance was 200 - 250 people. In 1985 MCEA launched out on faith and began meeting in hotels.
- A separate committee began planning the conventions in 1986. Since then the attendance has grown substantially. In 1990 MCEA thought there should be a separate Convention organization, so in 1991 the Minnesota Christian Convention was incorporated in the State of Minnesota as its own nonprofit organization.
- Since 1992 we have averaged between 700 - 1,000 attendees of all ages from infants to the elderly. Many attendees are new Christians coming from denominational backgrounds.
How will the Minnesota Christian Convention benefit me? - MCC lets you participate in something bigger than yourself.

- MCC provides a really big thing for children and teens in the state.
- MCC serves as a family event.
- MCC exposes you to different works through the Exhibits.

Who plans the convention? A committee of ministers from throughout the state plan the program, and there is a committee that is responsible for logistics. Committee members and many participants such as, coordinators, chairpersons, musicians, workshop leaders, and local speakers are all unpaid volunteers from throughout the state of Minnesota who are giving this service because they are committed Christians! Please pray for all of them. |
